Le nomination per il 92 ° Academy Awards sono state annunciate con John Cho ( The Exorcist ) e Issa Rae ( Insecure ) a disposizione per rivelare i film in corsa per il più alto onore del cinema.
Il thriller Joker con protagonista Joaquin Phoenix ha guidato il pacchetto di quest’anno con 11 nomination, tra cui per il miglior film, miglior regia (per Todd Phillips) e miglior attore (per Phoenix). The Irishman, 1917 e Once Upon a Time … a Hollywood erano tutti vicini con 10 nomination per film.
Naturalmente, c’erano anche alcuni snodi notevoli. Jennifer Lopez, che era stata a lungo considerata una precursore per il suo lavoro in Hustlers , è stata lasciata fuori dalla gara della migliore attrice non protagonista, mentre la regista di Little Women Greta Gerwig (che non era stata riconosciuta dai Golden Globe all’inizio di quest’anno) non è riuscita a ricevere la nomination in quella categoria dominata dai maschi.
La trasmissione televisiva degli Oscar di quest’anno punta a non far presentare a nessuno gli oscar come già accaduto nel 2019, il quale ha interrotto una tendenza al ribasso degli spettatori offrendo 29,6 milioni di telespettatori, in aumento dell’11% dal minimo storico stabilito dalla cerimonia 2018 ospitata da Jimmy Kimmel.
Gli Oscar, che quest’anno hanno scelto di rimanere senza presentatore, andranno in onda da Los Angeles domenica 9 febbraio.
