In uno sconvolgimento stupefacente, la commedia di Bong Joon Ho “Parasite” ha quasi spazzato via il 92 ° Academy Awards domenica sera, facendo la storia lungo il cammino.

“Parasite” è diventato il primo film in lingua straniera a vincere il premio come miglior film. Le sue vittorie nel film internazionale, il regista e le categorie di sceneggiatura originali sono state anche le prime per un film sudcoreano. Il film ha perso solo in due categorie: montaggio del film e design della produzione. Taika Waititi ha vinto l’Oscar per la migliore sceneggiatura adattata per “Jojo Rabbit”.

“Parasite” ha battuto “The Irishman” di Martin Scorsese, “Marriage Story” di Noah Baumbach, “Joker” di Todd Phillips – che avevano un totale di 11 nomination – “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” di Quentin Tarantino, 1917 di Sam Mendes “Ford v Ferrari” di James Mangold, “Jojo Rabbit” di Waititi e “Little Women” di Greta Gerwig per il primo premio.

Nel frattempo, Renée Zellweger (“Judy”), Joaquin Phoenix (“Joker”), Laura Dern (“Marriage Story”) e Brad Pitt (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”) hanno continuato a dominare la stagione dei premi con le loro vittorie nella recitazione. Il film drammatico di guerra di Mendes “1917”, che avrebbe dovuto dominare la notte dopo i suoi 10 anni e la stagione dei premi stellari, ha portato a casa solo tre premi in categorie tecniche. “The Irishman” è stato snobbato del tutto, nonostante le sue 10 nomination.
