“The Power of the Dog” guida i candidati per la 94a edizione degli Academy Awards con 12 nomination. Altri film più nominati sono stati “Belfast”, “Dune”, “King Richard” e “West Side Story”.

Il film ha ottenuto un totale di 12 nomination, tra cui miglior film, miglior regista per Jane Campion e nomination per la recitazione per la star Benedict Cumberbatch e i comprimari Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons e Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Dune segue con un totale di 10 nomination, incluso il miglior film, ma il film è stato escluso dalle categorie di regia e recitazione.

West Side Story e Belfast hanno ottenuto sette nomination, mentre King Richard è stato nominato in sei categorie. Questi tre si contenderanno anche il miglior film in una categoria che comprende un totale di 10 candidati: CODA, Don’t Look Up, Drive My Car, Liquirizia Pizza e Nightmare Alley completano la lista.

I candidati sono stati svelati in tutte le 23 categorie, dal miglior film al miglior regista, insieme alle categorie di recitazione e artigianato tra cui il miglior suono, il miglior design di produzione, il miglior trucco e acconciatura e i migliori effetti visivi. Leslie Jordan e Tracee Ellis Ross hanno presentato l’annuncio.
