Le nomination per la 93a edizione degli Academy Awards sono state annunciate lunedì mattina presto, con la coppia sposata Nick Jonas (The Voice) e Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico) per rivelare i film in corsa per il massimo onore del cinema.
Il punto della situazione delle nomination
Mank di David Fincher ha guidato le nomination con 10 riconoscimenti totali, incluso il riconoscimento nelle categorie Miglior film, Miglior attore e Miglior regia. Molti dei suoi compagni di Miglior Film candidati – tra cui The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Minari and Nomadland – hanno segnato sei nomination al pezzo, mentre The Walking Dead allume Steven Yeun è diventato il primo esecutore asiatico-americano ad essere riconosciuto come Miglior attore protagonista (per il suo lavoro in Minari ).
Chadwick Boseman, morto di cancro al colon nell’agosto 2020, ha ricevuto un cenno postumo per il suo ruolo in Black Bottom di Ma Rainey, per il quale ha vinto un Golden Globe all’inizio di quest’anno. E per la prima volta in assoluto, la categoria Miglior regia includeva due donne: Chloé Zhao di Nomadland e Emerald Fennell di Promising Young Woman .
Originariamente previsto per la messa in onda del 28 febbraio, poi ritardato dalla pandemia di coronavirus, gli Oscar del 2021 andranno in onda domenica 25 aprile. La cerimonia si svolgerà sia dal Dolby Theatre che dalla Union Station di Los Angeles.
L’anno scorso, la presentazione degli Oscar senza host della ABC – dove Parasite ha portato a casa il maggior numero di premi, incluso il miglior film – ha registrato una media di 23,6 milioni di spettatori totali e una valutazione demo di 5,3, in calo del 20 e del 30 percento rispetto al 2019 e toccando nuovi minimi in entrambe le misure.
